Vintage Double Strand Hand Stamped Sterling Silver Squash Blossom

Vintage Navajo sterling silver squash blossom necklace.   The term “Squash Blossom” refers to the unique flared beads that line a Squash Blossom necklace.  Named for their resemblance to the blossom of a flowering squash plant.  Squash was one of the  primary crops that sustained the Native people of the Southwest, and is referred to as one of the four sacred plants of the Navajo.  The hand made squash blossoms are incorporated amongst handmade navajo pearls and a sterling silver “Naja” centerpiece. The double strand and early period hand stamped navajo pearls make this particular necklace a truly unique collectors piece.
